The Retail Lab @ Glee was introduced in 2017, in association with the Horticultural Trades Association, to showcase the latest trends within the garden industry, whilst also providing retailers with hands on advice and inspirational content that they could take back to their own stores to drive footfall and sales in 2018 and beyond. So successful was the feature in driving incremental footfall to Glee and inspiring garden retailers that it ran for a consecutive 2 years until Covid stopped the physical event.

As experts in retail strategy and marketing implementation, PP8 was approached by industry leaders from the HTA and Glee to lead the project team to create a 250sqm feature within the heart of the Garden Industry’s annual trade show at Birmingham NEC.

Working with a team of industry specialists and well-renowned garden creative designer Romeo Sommers and trend agency WGSN, Paula set to work to bring their inspirational ideas to life for a 3-day event showcasing new developments in garden centre retailing to include trends, industry insights, consumer needs and merchandising techniques.

I would highly recommend Paula for the great work she achieved as project manager on the Retail Lab at Glee. Managing four different groups of stakeholders. Paula had to liaise, interpret ideas, manage budgets, host calls, meetings, keep to deadlines and deliver a content piece at Glee that had never been delivered to this scale before, as a result of the high standard of the feature, it was short listed for two exhibition industry awards.
